Principal David Johnson announced Friday that the National Merit Scholarship Program named two HHS seniors as Commended Students for 2013. Miranda Peterson and Robert Volpendesta were among about 34,000 throughout the nation who placed in the top five percent of more than 1.5 million students who took the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test for college.
Colleges like to see applicants with high PSAT/NMSQT scores and Peterson and Volpendesta will receive letters of commendation from HHS and the National Merit Scholarship Corporation, too.
