Algonquin's St. Margaret Mary Church Society of St. Vincent de Paul will sponsor its first-ever visit by the Northern Illinois Food Bank Mobile Food Pantry Monday. The food truck will distribute five to six tons of fresh meats, produce and other perishables from 11 am to 1 pm in the church parking lot.
Although it's the first time The Society's sponsored the Mobile Pantry, organizers hope to make it an annual or even semiannual event. Currently the Society conducts or helps in many other projects such as selling soup after Mass, assisting with the Christmas Giving Tree, collecting and distributing Thanksgiving Food Baskets, helping with the St. Joseph’s Table, helping with the annual Shamrock Shave parish fundraiser.
