LITH Ford School Reenactment At Eastgate Algonquin Lib

Sunday the Lake in the Hills Historical Society will reenact learning in  a one-room schoolhouse, specifically, LITH's Ford School, now back to its original site and being restored after a 60-year absence.

Featuring period clothing, activities and some artifacts, Alexa Newman from the Algonquin Library will demonstrate how students were taught using, among other textbooks, the famous McGuffey's Reader. The Presentation will take place from 2 to 3:30 pm at the Algonquin Library Eastgate branch. The class is free but pre-registration is required through the Village of Lake in the Hills Parks & Recreation Department. Call
