Huntley Police today are looking for possible witnesses to a reported child approach in the village's Northbridge subdivision off Algonquin Road Wednesday. Deputy Chief Mike Klunk said at about 3 pm a man in a van near the intersection of Eastwood Drive and and Sawgrass Lane followed a 16 year old-girl for a short distance and yelled to her. Klunk said the driver didn't get out of the vehicle, though.
Klunk said the driver was a white male, 40 to 50 years old. The van, he said, was white with red lettering but the girl wasn't able to read it.
Klunk advised parents or children to call 911 immediately when there's a child approach and write down as much information about it as soon as possible. Anyone with information about the Wednesday approach can call Huntley PD at 847-515-5311 or HPD's anonymous TIP Line, 847-515-5333.
