Huntley No-Kill Pet Shelter Seeks "Votes" For Grant

Huntley's Animal House is asking for online votes in a contest to win a $5,000 grant to the no-kill pet shelter.  A national pet rescue contest will award that and 53 other $1,000 grants in a program that runs through Dec. 16.

In a local fundraiser in two weeks, the group which places about 2,500 abandoned pets each year in new homes plans a Bowl For Paws event at Algonquin's Brunswick Zone XL on Randall Road.  A $25 ticket for the Oct. 28 event includes two hours of bowling, shoe rental and pizza.
