Hultgren Visits GOP Fundraiser In Algonquin

Fourteenth District Congressman Randy Hultgren was the headliner at Monday's McHenry County GOP fundraiser at Algonquin's Port Edward Restaurant.  It was Hultgren's third visit to the area since last year's census-dictated remap.

New boundaries for the November election sliced the eastern tentacle of Don Manzullo's old 16th District into sushi, handing the westish parts of Algonquin and Lake in the Hills and all of Huntley to Hultgren.  The eastish parts of Algonquin and LITH and Crystal Lake will be in Republican Congressman Peter Roskam's 6th Distict. Manzullo used to make regular forays to southern McHenry County but it's not clear yet whether Hultgren and Roskam are paying as much attention.

Then again, Hultgren's on the House Transportation--read "roads"--Committee.  His last visit to the area in February was to inspect Algonquin and LITH's bottleneck Randall/Algonquin intersection.  Hultgren, from Winfield, is opposed by Gurnee Democrat Dennis Anderson.

McHenry County Republican Chairman Mike Tryon said Monday's fundraiser was strictly local, contributions going to support a new County GOP headquarters in Crystal Lake and Republican County Board candidates. Some would be spent on local support in the Presidential race, too, though he said.  "We've handed out 500 Romney yard signs in the last three days," said Tryon.

Hultgren is too extreme! Open the link and you'll see the wackjob John Birch Society rates him highly. He's pro corporation and anti human.

Randy Hultgren refused to tell citizens where he stands on any of the issues addressed in the 2012 Political Courage Test, despite repeated requests from Vote Smart, national media, and prominent political leaders.
