Halloween's a week away so it's time once again to review the area hours for trick-or-treating and for a couple of popular Halloween events.
In Algonquin trick-or-treating hours are from 3 to 7 pm on October 31. The Algonquin Police Department recommends kids travel in groups or go with a parent and carry something that lights up or a flashlight. "Do not approach strange vehicles for any reason," warns Algonquin PD.
In Lake in the Hills the recommended hours are 2 to 8 pm on the 31st. LITH PD will host its ninth annual safe trick or treat night for children at the miniature town located behind the Safety Educational Center on Crystal Lake Road from 3 to 6 pm. Children can visit each of the little buildings to meet friendly monsters handing out treats.
In Huntley trick-or-treat hours will run from 4 to 7 pm on Halloween.
This Sunday, again, Algonquin Commons will host its annual Halloween Extravaganza Event from 11 am to 1 pm. The free event includes mall-wide trick-or-treating at stores, games, contests and prizes, not to mention discount offers this year at several of the Commons' restaurants.
