Ex-LITH Resident Faces 21 Years For Child Sex Assault

A McHenry County jury after two hours' deliberation late Tuesday convicted a former Lake in the Hills resident of three counts of of Predatory Criminal Sexual Assault of a Child and one of Aggravated Criminal Sexual Abuse. Robert Lucht, 56, faces a minimum 21 years in prison at sentencing scheduled Nov.20.

Lake in the Hills Police arrested Lucht in early 2009 when the victim of the assaults, then 11 years old, was hospitalized for suicidal intentions and for harming herself. Police testified the child told them Lucht had sexually assaulted her repeatedly between the ages of seven and nine years-old.  Confronted, police said Lucht gave them a written confession.  During the two-day trial Lucht maintained his innocence and repudiated the confession.
