County Survey Asks About Solid Waste

McHenry County is in the process of updating their Solid Waste Management Plan. One of the things administrators are looking for is input from McHenry County homeowners, business owners/operators, agriculturalists, institutions and organizations so there's an online survey now asking for feedback.

The survey covers solid waste issues like as garbage and recycling and the management of waste materials including household hazardous waste, livestock waste/manure, food scrap collection for composting, grease and oil, industrial waste and construction/demolition debris.  The survey's at:

It also asks about barriers to recycling and the level of importance for certain types of waste materials and initiatives.  The Solid Waste Management Plan is an effort to reduce McHenry County's reliance on landfills for disposal, maximizing recycling rates and improving solid waste management.
