Route 31 Bypass construction will begin to squeeze down Algonquin Road today but it won't be the Full Monty closures still expected later this week. Algonquin Village Manager Bill Ganek said construction company officials advised Tuesday that one lane of Algonquin Road will be closed for sewer work today.
The last best estimate had been that one lane east and one west would close down today during non-rush hours but power and telephone crews were still hard at work Tuesday afternoon relocating utilities. More construction equipment was observed at the interchange site Tuesday. However, warning signs still advised only that "delays" could be expected this week.
