September is National Library Card Sign-Up Month. (Also, National Atrial Fibrilation Month, Mold Awareness Month and {really, honest} Be Kind To Editors and Writers Month.) In observance, the Huntley Area Public Library, Algonquin Area Public Library and the Fox River Valley Public Library will host a library card sign-up day at Algonquin Commons shopping center Saturday.
"A Library Card – What We All Have In Common" will run from 1 to 5 pm. with drawings for a Kindle eReader for patrons of each library district. A number of Commons stores will, surprise, have discounts for library card holders the day of the event, too. They're listed here:
