Jersey Mike's Wins LITH Business Award

Lake in the Hills Village Officials announced Friday that online voters had selected a LITH sandwich shop for this year's prestigious Gordon Larsen Business Achievment Award.  The two year-old Jersey Mike's Subs franchise at 285 N. Randall will receive the award at the LITH Village Board meeting in two weeks.

In 2010 when Jersey Mike's opened in LITH the store raised over $2,000 for Jacobs High School and over $500 for Huntley High. The shop's partnered with one charity or non-profit organization every month since with a free sub sandwich for each $2 donation to each group.

Apparently voters thought that was a pretty good fit with the Larsen award, named after LITH resident Gordon Larsen who established LITH's Larsen Industrial Park, donated Dome Hill Park to the Village and served on its Economic Development Commission for many years.
