The latest date for Algonquin Road to switch from four lanes to two from Route 31 to Meyer Drive is Tuesday, according to an IDOT notice quietly posted Thursday. That's in agreement with the signs above and below the Algonquin Western Bypass signs which also began flashing
"new traffic patterns--Tuesday 9/18" Friday.
The latest notice reports the neckdown will last through the end of the year.
In the pic: Last week's tree removal makes the Bypass route pretty clear now. In re, the trees, Algonquin Village President reported most cut down were "junk trees" and when the bypass is done, landscaping will include more desirable hardwoods.

This by-pass is going to do nothing to help all the folks who need to cross the river to find the jobs on the other side. What a waste.
