The Huntley Tea Party will host a "Restore Our U.S. Economy And The State of Illinois" event at the Cosman Center Sept. 18 at 6:30 pm. It will feature a former gubernatorial candidate and a current radio talkshow host.

Oh the irony of the tea-publicans railing against socialism while standing at the socialist curb next to the socialist roadway with the socialist drainage system and the socialist roadway improvement project going on in the background. They appear to be overwhelmingly old and white, so I hope they're not on socialist Social Security or socialist Medicare.
Just goes to show that anyone can wave a flag and call themselves patriots. These people's 15 minutes of fame has flamed out. I'm amazed they even get press coverage for distracting drivers from the construction road.

Born of a commitment to remedy the economic and moral defects of capitalism, it has far surpassed capitalism in both economic malfunction and moral cruelty.

Anonymous cut-and-paster at 7:09 PM proves my point that Socialism is an economic rather than political argument (read what you posted). Socialism is properly defined as collective or governmental ownership and administration of the means of production. (roads, bridges, schools, military, police, fire, patents, copyrights, our court system, FAA, FDA, EPA...get it?) Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid are also socialist programs. I like this stuff and don't advocate for the abolition of private property so I'm no communist.
Right wingers feel that most everything the government now does should be privatized (read: profitized). I think the non-privatized (read: socialist) list of agencies and services detailed above are better handled by the government than private entities. If we're unhappy with any of these services, we can petition the government (which works for us) to change them. Privatization of these services eliminates transparency and accountability.
Just like a Dummycrat always looking of a government handout.

I am proud to pay my state, federal, sales, and property taxes since they provide the services detailed in my earlier post. You have a group of people who believe in a cause(right or wrong) and you have the other people who believe something else calling them names and bullying them for what they believe. Isn't this what the generation of the sisxties protested in the past? I believe that the ability to voice my opinion is what's RIGHT about our country. Also, it's hard not to note the absurdity of those railing against socialism while drinking deeply from it's well. If you hate socialism, send back your Social Security check, don't use Medicare, stay off public roadways, don't call police or fire departments (I could go on all day).
