A return flight snafu in Germany Saturday postponed a Huntley Welcome Home celebration for Army Sgt. Danny Bacino for a day and, even then, his arrival time at Dhamer Square was uncertain until Sunday morning. Even so, his family, members of the Huntley American Legion, Scouts and well-wishers are on hand for hugs and handshakes when Bacino's cortege, led by Patriot Guard motorcyclists, roared up shortly after 11:30 pm.
Legionnaire J.R. Westberg handed Bacino, returning from the 177th Field Artillery and tours in Iraq and Afghanistan, a membership in Post 673. The 25 year-old Huntley resident's back in the U.S. to ETS, then attend school to study HVAC. Where? "I'm going to look at everything," he said.
