Antique Farm Tractors Feature At Huntley Farmers' Market
Sun City resident Joe Britz recalled earlier days, too. "I remember these," he said. "I grew up on a farm. We had a tractor. Cattle, chickens. Manure. You shoveled that by hand."
"My stepfather had a 1939 John Deere and a team of horses," said Jones. "He farmed 120 acres."
"I help my son now," Jones said. "He farms over 4,000 acres with two tractors. He doesn't have to work near as hard."
In the pic: Restorer Jim Jones and spectator Joe Britz wax nostalgic about a time when a tractor didn't cost as much as a house.
