Obituaries

Arthur Edwin Poyer, 81, of Sun City, Huntley, died peacefully Sunday at Centegra Memorial Hospital, Woodstock. A visitation will be held Tuesday from 4 to 8 pm at DeFiore Jorgensen Funeral Home, Huntley. A graveside service will be held at 1 pm Wednesday at Mt. Emblem Cemetery in Elmhurst.

Poyer was born June 24, 1931, the son of Edwin B. and Violet B. (Cooksley) Poyer.  He married Dianne J. Rabschutz on Dec. 28, 1950 in Chicago. He is survived by his wife of Huntley; children, Arthur (Irene) (Lanna) Poyer, Carol Ann (Clifford) Guernsey, Glenn (Susan) Poyer, Todd (Mary) Poyer and  Julie A. (Brian) Maki, fourteen grand children and his brother, Lawrence (Carol) Poye. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and a sister.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Hospice of Northeastern Illinois or the Mesothelioma Research Foundation.
