Obituaries

Edward Donald "Ed" Synek, 70, of Woodstock, died Tuesday at Pepper Family Hospice in Barrington. Synek was Senior Transportation bus driver for Grafton Township. Visitation will be held from 10 am until the funeral Mass is celebrated at 11 am today at St. Mary Catholic Church, Woodstock. Interment will be private.

Synek was born Sept. 1, 1941, in Chicago. He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Joyce (nee Belver); sons, Ed (Jennifer), Matt (Lisa) and Andy Synek, and grandchildren, Eddie, Ella, Joey and Owen.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The ALS Association, Greater Chicago Chapter.
