Dundee Township Park District which includes the south part of Algonquin held a ribbon cutting and official grand opening Saturday for its new Randall Oaks Recreation Center on Randall Road south of Huntley Road. Also unveiled was a new branch library for the Fox River Valley Public Library District which, likewise, includes most of nether Algonquin.
The 53,000 square-foot Rec Center includes a 5,000-square-foot fitness center, a double gym with running/walking track above and exercise classrooms. Downstairs (and to the right) is the 5,000 square-foot western branch of the recently renamed Dundee Township Library.
Center hours will be 5 am to 10 pm Monday through Friday and 7 pm to 5 pm Saturday and Sunday. Library hours will be 10 am to 6 pm Monday and Wednesday, Noon to 8 pm Tuesday and Thursday and 9 am to 5 pm Saturday. The branch will be closed Fridays and Sundays.
