Lions Bean Bag Tourney Supports Scholarship, Pantry

Algonquin Lions weren't sure Saturday how much their third Annual Bean Bag Toss Tournament had raised. Part of it depended on how many chicken wings competitors and spectators consumed by day's end at the event's Buffalo Wild Wings venue on Randall Road.  The restaurant promised a cut of food sales to the Lions.

With luck, the total was over $4,000, since the Lions had already awarded a $2,000 Ted Spella Scholarship to Olivet Nazarene pre-med student Kristin Wodka, daughter of Ron and Janice Wodka. They group also plans to donate $2,000 to support the Algonquin Lake In the Hills Interfaith Food Pantry.  Anent which, by the way, there's an Open House scheduled to show off the new Pyott Road location and truck gardens next Sunday from 1 to 4 pm.
