The audience for LITH Parks & Recreation Department's now-annual performance by Chicago's Barefoot Hawaiians keeps on growing. Parents and kids crammed Indian Trail Beach Tuesday for the seventh edition of the 40 year-old group performing songs and dances of Polynesia.
Tisha Brown and daughters Autumn, Aaliyah and Anaka, came down from Crystal Lake wearing flowers in their hair. "We've come a long way for this," she said, mostly because the family returned from a trip to Maui 11 months ago. "I can't get enough," said Brown. "I want to go back so desperately."
With a crowd of 175 on hand to watch the show Tuesday, Jack Lord's catchphrase from the old "Hawaii Five-O" TV show probably was one more than one mind. "Book 'Em, Danno." Again, for next year's show.
