Department Of Health Shuts LITH Indian Trail Beach

The McHenry County Department of Health Friday closed down Lake in the Hills' Indian Trail Beach for excess levels of E coli bacteria in the water.  The Beach failed shallow sampling Wednesday and both shallow and deep sampling Thursday. The closure Friday was the first this year for any of LITH's beaches.  Indian Trails will remain closed until  shallow and deep water samples test below a maximum standard, both on the same day.  Thursday's samples were double the mark on the shallow sample and about 10 percent above for the deep one.
