Algonquin Man Charged With Child Porn Possession

Two men were indicted Tuesday by a Rockford federal grand jury for separately allegedly transporting and possessing child pornography.

One was 37 year-old John Carlson whose Algonquin address was not listed in available records.  He's charged with transmitting two kid porn images on the Internet and with possessing a laptop computer and hard drive containing still and video images of child pornography last Aug. 24. Similarly indicted for two counts of transporting child pornography on the Internet and one of possessing child pornography that had crossed state lines was a 34 year-old Roscoe resident, Jason Nicoson.

The Algonquin Police Department, Illinois State Police, and the Illinois Internet Crimes Against Children Taskforce assisted in the investigations that led to the two men's indictments. If convicted, Both Carlson and Nicoson could face a maximum potential sentence on each count of up to 10 years in prison, 3 years of supervised release afterwards and a fine of up to $250,000.
