Algonquin Doggie Dine Out Benefits Animal House, Huntley

Tuesday was Doggie Dine Out evening at Algonquin's Port Edwards restaurant. It was the first of three "dine with your dog" events scheduled this Summer in which 15 percent of sales to terrace diners go to support Animal House pet shelter in Huntley.

Most of the pooches present Tuesday fell into the lapdog category so golden retriever "Puffles" who brought along the Domek family from Lake in the Hills sort of stood out.  Dave, Renita, Maddy and Emily had crab.  Puffles had dog biscuits.

Port Ed will hold another Doggie Dine out for Animal House Thursday from 5 pm to dusk. The third's  scheduled next month, Sept. 30.

Good spot not to go to have dinner. Dogs belong at home, not at a restaurant.

Port Edward actually has a Doggie Dine-Out every Tuesday and Thursday (weather permitting) on their outside deck. They support many different animal shelters & rescue groups in the area through these events. This is always a fun night, with hundreds of people and some pooches having a great time outdoors, enjoying wonderful food. (the anonymous poster above should feel free to eat inside and avoid the outside deck if she/he doesn't want to be around dogs!)
