Algonquin Board Approves Engineers' 3 Percent Raise
The contract, approved after closed session debate, covers 48 OE 150 Village employees in the Public Works Department including Admin, Streets, Parks & Forestry, Water & Sewer and Internal Services.
Earlier, Public Works Director Bob Mitchard and Village Attorney Kelley Cahill recommended against evening removal of barricades Edgewood Road construction work. Resident Tom Gummow complained residents' access is so restricted it takes a nine-mile detour to go to the nearby Dairy Queen even at night when no one's working. Cahill said it was still a dangerous construction area, though, and Mitchard said, "It would be my professional suggestion not to do it."
Later Mitchard reported Edgewood's about half-finished and if utility relocation isn't delayed any further, Edgewood paving should be finished Nov. 1.
