The Friends of the Algonquin Area Public Library Summer Book Sale began Thursday at the Library’s Eastgate Branch with 30,000 titles organized by subject and alphabetically. Friends volunteers say the prep work is why their sales are consistently rated "exceptional" by website Booksalefinder.com.
The summer sale runs through Sunday with most books, either donated by the public or withdrawn from the library collection, priced at $1 to $2. Special books, CD books and video games are marked 3$ and up.
Thursday's sale included an entry fee but entry's free today through Sunday. Sale hours are 4 to 8 pm today, 10 am to 2 pm Saturday and 1 to 4 pm Sunday, half-price day.
