Ribfest "Cookin'" Say LITH Rotarians

Thursday's sweltering heat may have damped the first day's turnout at Lake in the Hills Rotary's Rockin Ribfest Thursday.  The temp was still 99 degrees at 7 pm.   However, club President Jim Wales laughed at the suggestion saying, "If you think it's hot, it's totally cookin' at the Ribfest."

Actually, Wales said "Thursday night is always sort of a premiere night" when the club and Ribfest volunteers get everything working smoothly.  For instance, a new problem Thursday, was how to keep visitors from washing their hands in the hydroponics exhibit showcasing the LITH group's project to held a village in Guatemala.  "I mean there's signs there already," said Rotarian Steve Swanson.

Ribfest this year features eight grillers and barbecuers along with other vendors selling fair fare like chips and funnel cakes.  Eight more bands are scheduled to appear onstage at Ribfest in the next three days.
