At Tuesday's meeting the Board was generally receptive to a sketch plan for a new 16-pump gas station, car wash and convenience store on Algonquin Road across from Wentworth Drive even though it wouldn't be set back from the road as much as code requires. A staff report said the proposed Grove Mart facility "will help improve market patterns that support additional market activity on other available sites" at the Lake Pointe project.

LITH Nixes Drive-Thru For Planned Bank At Blockbuster
The Lake in the Hills Village Board Thursday gave an official thumbs down to a bank's request to install a horshoe-shaped drive-thru teller lane if it locates in LITH's former Blockbuster video store on Randall Road. Trustees didn't comment on the proposal Thursday but at Tuesday's Committee of the Whole meeting they agreed with the Village Planning and Zoning Commission that, while the proposed lane was theoretically OK, in practice, it would be too tight for drivers to use safely.

Isn't there a drive thru vacant bank right next to this location? It used to house LaSalle Bank and then BoA. Why build a new one when there is an existing bank right next door?
Exactly! Use the bank that is already there. Also, why is there a need for another gas station...why not build some restaurants out on Lakewood Rd?
Enough of the Banks. These retail banks offer no taxes to the Village. Put in something that can increase revenues for LITH!
