Huntley Animal House Places 2,500 Dogs, Cats Per Year

Some of the roughly 2,500 dogs and cats adopted out during the past year at Huntley's Animal House Shelter brought their masters back for a visit Saturday during the no-kill shelter's annual PawFest fundraiser.  Animal House Volunteers hoped the celebration would bring more adoptions to match last week's unusual 50 animal placements. "We had a lot of puppies (last week) remarked Animal House Director Cindy Ritter.

Animal House, celebrating its 10th year of operation, is sort of like a game of musical chairs for cats and dogs.  "The more we can adopt out, the more we're able to (house for) rescue," Ritter said.
