Forecasters: Last Day To Swelter

National Weather Service forecasters said they expected a cold front now in Wisconsin to move into the area around 4 pm bringing what may be a record-setting string of hot weather in the Chicago area to an end. If the mercury pushes above 100 again today it will set a new record for consecutive 100 degree days.

The mercury hit 103 at both O'Hare and Rockford Friday, again beating the records for the date at both locations.

Forecasters said there's a chance of storms this evening and overnight as the cool air moves in with locally heavy rainfall possible.

Starting Sunday daytime highs in the 80's and cool overnight lows in the lower 60's are expected before a slight warming trend towards the end of the week.  However, meteorologists said the chance of rain for the extended period are "very low"
