The Lake in the Hills Ribfest car show closed just as the mercury (not Mercury) began to drop so less-than-hardcore may have missed some very cool wheels. For instance, an original and unrestored '55 T-Bird (red, of course) and a very cherry '57 'Vette. Gloriously modified was a '63 Chevy II with a very nonstandard smallblock. Comic relief included a well-maintained Morris Minor, the Brits' argument that the Volkswagen Beetle was too big and luxurious.
Chances are a lot of the cars at the Ribfest show will turn up at the Algonquin/Lake in the Hills Chamber of Commerce Cruise Night Tuesday at Algonquin's Sonic Drive In from 5:30 to 8:30 pm. A non-perishable food donation for the ALITH Food Pantry Tuesday or at the final Cruise Night Aug. 10 will earn a free ice-cold treat from Sonic.

Not enough trophies for the number of cars. 60tys and 70tys were lumped together and that group represented the majority of cars. Also they should let spectators vote like they did two years ago. That gives people who come to the show a vote and avoids click wins. It's cooler to get a win like that then from serial car show guys.
