Application Time For Eighth Algonquin Public Art Program

It's time for area artists to break out the tempera or welding torches (as the case may be).  The Village of Algonquin is organizing a display plan for the eighth year of its award-winning public art program.

The plan puts selected artworks in indoor and outdoor locations throughout the community for up to one year so the Village is soliciting the temporary loan of paintings, drawings, murals, fiber works, mosaics, and especially outdoor sculptures. This year's public art program features more than 30 artworks on display at a dozen display sites.

The application deadline is Aug. 3 for artists interested in submitting an artwork. The application is available online here:  http://www.algonquin.org/egov/docs/1339099096_713104.pdf or call Ben Mason, Village Planner, at (847) 658-4184 to request an application by mail or fax.

Current artwork will be on display through September and brochures listing the locations are available at the Algonquin Village Hall.
