Huntley Welcomes Local Serviceman

Fire and Police lights flared and Harleys rumbled down Main Street in a welcome home Monday for a Huntley native son back recently from Iraq.

Air Force Staff Sgt. Jason Stohlquist drove down from North Dakota for a Thanksgiving visit with Mom Patsy Stohlquist and Grandma Bessie Piske. The pair beamed as Stoholquist shook hands with VFW Adjutant Herb Glissendorf, Mayor Chuck Sass, Trustee Pam Fender, Fire Chief Jim Saletta and dozens of friends and well-wishers.

Stohlquist won't stay in Huntley long. Although his term was almost up, Stohlquist said he'd re-enlisted.  "I signed the papers last week," he said.

"I'll go back (to Iraq)," said the Firefighter Crew Chief. "I'm not afraid."
